Purdue Snatches a Part of the 2023–24 Big Ten Men's Basketball Championship  

On Saturday, Purdue's men's basketball team defeated Michigan State 80-74 at Mackey Arena in West Lafayette, Ind. to share the 2023-24 Big Ten Conference title.    

The Boilermakers improved to 15-3 in conference play and led Illinois by two games with two games left.  

Purdue has won 26 Big Ten titles, four more than Indiana, including its second consecutive.  

The program's first repeat since 1994, 1995, and 1996 titles.  

Purdue went on a 19-4 surge to take a 38-35 lead into halftime after trailing 26-19 with 8:44 left.   

The second-half Zach Edey three-point play at 14:26 extended Purdue's lead to 54-39.  

Minutes later, an AJ Hoggard triple capped an 8-0 Michigan State burst, pulling the Spartans within three, but the Boilermakers replied with a 7-2 run to pull ahead by seven.  

The visitors got no closer than five points in the closing nine minutes.
