Mother June Shannon Worries Daughter Alana Will 'Spread Her Wings and Damn Crash' When Choosing College

"The world is a cruel place and it will chew you up and spit you out and not think twice about it," Mama June told cameras after admitting she didn't think Alana was "ready" for college.

Mama June Shannon is apprehensive about her child leaving the nest given Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson's college decision.

Alana, 18, told her sister Lauryn "Pumpkin" Efird on Friday's Mama June: Family Crisis that she was headed to Colorado for college.

Lauryn, 24, was thrilled to hear that Alana was "maturing and growing up and not depending on a man" for her future, but they worried for Mama June, 44.

Alana, Lauryn, and Josh Efird traveled to Alabama to help Mama June and Justin Stroud move back to Georgia. "Are you gonna tell Mama, Alana?" She answered Lauryn, "For what?

Like Mama doesn't seem to want me to travel to Colorado. She probably wants me to stay. She's coming up with every reason to avoid Colorado."

Lauryn imagined Mama June having "a lot of guilt" about being absent during their childhoods and wanting Alana to stay in Georgia to "correct her wrongs."

"But like girl, it's a little too late for that now," she said. At her Alabama home, Mama June told Justin she didn't think Alana would attend college. She said her youngest hadn't found a home or started classes.
