Michael Keaton and Catherine O'Hara reunite 35 years after Beetlejuice for Oscars 2024.

Sunday's Oscars 2024 saw Michael Keaton and Catherine O'Hara's long-awaited reunion.

At the 96th Academy Awards, the costars of Beetlejuice and its future sequel awarded Best Production Design and Best Makeup and Hairstyling to Danny Elfman's theme tune.

Keaton, 72, and O'Hara, 70, reunite nearly four months after Tim Burton announced on Instagram that the sequel had concluded filming. "Just completed Beetlejuice. Burton, 65, thanked everyone in November 2023.

Keaton, O'Hara, and Ryder return in the new picture. Jenna Ortega, Monica Bellucci, and Justin Theroux join the seuqel cast.

O'Hara told PEOPLE in January she was delighted to work with Keaton in the sequel.

"I had a Beetlejuice moment with Michael. In the first film, Michael and I had group scenes, but in this, we had a moment!"

"Seeing Beetlejuice in person was weird and thrilling. His appearance is identical. O'Hara joked that Beetlejuice aged well. In February, Keaton told PEOPLE that he and Burton contemplated a sequel for years.

The 96th Academy Awards, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, are live on ABC from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
