LeBron James defends son Bronny after 2024 NBA mock draft drop: ‘Only the Work Matters!’

LeBron James defends his oldest son's work ethic!

The NBA legend, 39, vented on X (previously Twitter) on Monday over his son Bronny's basketball career, according to USA Today, the New York Post, and TMZ.

ESPN withdrew the 19-year-old USC freshman from their 2024 NBA mock draft. The collegiate player is expected to be drafted in 2025.

“Can yall please just let the kid be a kid and enjoy college basketball,” the Lakers player wrote in the deleted X post, USA Today reported.

“No matter what he does, work and results will speak. He works regardless of mock drafts. Gained Not Given!"

The four-time NBA champion advised other kids aspiring to be great to put their heads down, blinders on, and grind. These mock drafts are irrelevant! I swear! Only work matters!

Talk real basketball, people!" ESPN NBA Draft analyst Jonathan Givony told Malika Andrews on NBA Today that he “loves Bronny James’ game still.”

“He’s one of the top freshmen defenders," Givony said. “Bronny James will be different if he returns for his sophomore season. Someone who could yet win the lotto will be seen.”
