Lainey Wilson Says That When It Comes to Beyoncé Going Country, "the more the merrier"

Beyoncé is welcomed to country music by Lainey Wilson.

I adore it. More is better, said Wilson, 31, in a Monday, February 19 Extra interview.

Country music tells stories and makes folks feel at home. Everyone wants to feel at home.

With a Super Bowl LVIII commercial earlier this month, Beyoncé revealed her genre shift and that Renaissance: Act II, her eighth studio album, will debut on March 29.

Two twangy tunes, “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages,” followed the record announcement. The album follows Renaissance, which debuted in July 2022 and generated a global tour and concert film.

Wilson doesn't care that some country music fans disliked the genre transition, even though most people loved it.

“Everybody is going to have something to say about everything,” she said. I adore Beyoncé.”
