How is the health of Randy Travis? 'Price Is Right' visit by a country singer excites fans

Randy Travis made a rare public appearance on "The Price Is Right" on Feb. 27, accompanied by his wife, Mary Davis, in his wheelchair.

Travis faced health challenges, including viral cardiomyopathy in 2013, resulting in heart weakness and a near-fatal stroke.

Doctors gave Travis less than a 1% chance of surviving after his stroke in 2013.

Mary Davis had to make difficult decisions about Travis's life support, ultimately choosing to fight for his recovery.

Travis underwent physical therapy after his stroke, developing aphasia, a communication disorder, and relying on his wife for interviews.

Travis learned to walk again during recovery but mostly uses a wheelchair now.

Despite speech difficulties, Travis occasionally sings, notably performing "Amazing Grace" at the Country Music Hall of Fame induction in 2016.

Travis released a new single, "Fool's Love Affair," in 2020 and collaborated on a cover of his song "Forever and Ever, Amen" with Josh Turner, marking his first recording session since his stroke.
