Four ideal landing destinations for Christian Wilkins in NFL free agency.

Many people were surprised when the Miami Dolphins decided not to slap the franchise tag on outstanding defensive tackle Christian Wilkins.

Wilkins, 28, is coming off a career-best 2023 performance that included 23 quarterback hits and nine sacks.

He's regarded as one of the league's best interior pass rushers and is only now entering his prime.

With Miami enabling Wilkins to enter NFL free agency, it's assumed that he'll go for a big payday in another city. Here, we'll look at four ideal landing places.

Wilkins is a fascinating case study since he can play both inside in a standard 4-3 defence and on the edge in a 3-4.

It will make the competition for his services in free agency more interesting. We truly love New England as a destination for the Dolphins' star.

The Patriots are now $91.49 million under the 2024 NFL salary cap. They could definitely need another lineman under new head coach Jerod Mayo.

The Patriots may find it difficult to pass on the opportunity to pair Wilkins with promising youngster Christian Barmore.

Chicago also finds itself in a favourable cap scenario coming into NFL free agency, with approximately $80 million to spend.

We fully anticipate general manager Ryan Poles to make extensive use of that to help Chicago overcome its recent troubles.
