Anti-inflammatory Cherry Spinach Smoothie  

This healthy smoothie is not only delicious, but it also helps you get your daily dose of anti-inflammatory nutrients.   

It begins with a base of creamy gut-friendly kefir and contains cherries, which can reduce the inflammatory marker C-reactive protein.   

1 cup plain, low-fat kefir 1 cup frozen cherries. 1/2 cup baby spinach leaves. 1/4 cup mashed ripe avocado.  

Ingredients

1 tablespoon of salted almond butter. 1 (1/2 inch) piece of peeled ginger 1 teaspoon of chia seeds, with extra for garnish.  

Place the kefir in a blender. Combine the cherries, spinach, avocado, almond butter, ginger, and chia seeds;  

puree until smooth. Pour into a glass and garnish with additional chia seeds, if desired.  

Cherries are rich in antioxidants and have anti-inflammatory properties, while spinach adds vitamins and minerals. 

Turmeric and ginger also contribute to the anti-inflammatory benefits of this smoothie.  

The chia seeds provide omega-3 fatty acids and add thickness. Adjust the quantities according to your taste preferences and nutritional needs.
