After neighbors complained, Singapore defended Taylor Swift's Southeast Asia tour.

Singapore's regional neighbors are annoyed that Taylor Swift's Eras Tour is luring admirers from Southeast Asia and beyond.

The Singaporean government's exclusive contract with concert promoters to make Singapore her lone Southeast Asian performance venue is the target of the wrath.

Singapore has benefited from Swift's fans' purchases of flights, hotels, and souvenirs.

But regional countries are upset with Filipino legislator Joey Salceda claiming exclusive deals aren't “what good neighbors do.”

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong denied that Singapore was “unfriendly” to its neighbors by negotiating with the superstar.

“[Our] agencies negotiated an arrangement with her to come to Singapore and perform and to make Singapore her only stop in Southeast Asia,” Lee told a press conference in Melbourne during a state visit to Australia.
