After Haaland's egregious miss, Foden spearheads Man City's comeback, and the Red Devils defeat United 3-1 in the derby.  

Manchester, England (AP)— After Erling Haaland's incredible blunder, Phil Foden led Manchester City's comeback to beat Manchester United 3-1 in a one-sided derby that revealed the gap between the two Premier League rivals on Sunday.  

Marcus Rashford's rasping long-range shot in the eighth minute and Haaland's obvious miss from two meters out put City down 1-0 at halftime. 

After Haaland missed, Foden scored the equalizer in the 56th minute and a low shot in the 80th after Julian Alvarez's inside ball.  

“I always thought he would score.   

According to City manager Pep Guardiola, 23-year-old England forward Foden is winning games  

His double gave him 17 goals this season in all competitions, a career high.  

"He is the player of the season... no one has been so decisive for us this season."  

Haaland made up for his miss by scoring the third goal in stoppage time with City's 27th shot following a defensive error.
