A Taylor Swift concertgoer died of heat exhaustion.

According to post-mortem investigations quoted in Brazilian media, a 23-year-old fan who collapsed during a Taylor Swift concert in Rio de Janeiro in November died of heat exhaustion.

On November 17, Ana Clara Benevides Machado attended Swift's inaugural Eras Tour event in the Brazilian city.

Temperatures reached 39 degrees Celsius (102 degrees Fahrenheit) due to a heat wave, with the "felt" temperature reaching 59.3 degrees Celsius, according to city officials.

Taylor Swift was "devastated" by the fan's death at the time. The musician appeared to be struggling with the hot temperatures on video footage.

The musician canceled the show set for the next day after the fan's death, but continued the tour.

Ana Clara Benevides Machado, a psychology student from Rondonópolis, had traveled to Rio to attend the event.

Daniele Menin, a friend of Swift's, told G1 news that the 23-year-old fainted during Swift's second song.

She was treated on the scene by paramedics before being transferred to the hospital, where she died.
