A Green Smoothie with Avocado and Kale

This nutritious smoothie is greener with kale and avocado. Chia seeds include heart-healthy fiber and omega-3s.

Preparing Kale for Smoothies Use 1 packed cup of baby or ordinary kale in the smoothie.

How to prepare smoothie kale: Slice each stem side or grasp onto it and pull leaves. Roughly cut leaves. Avocado Cutting for Smoothies A 1⁄4 ripe avocado is needed for the smoothie.

How to cut an avocado: Use a knife to carefully slice the avocado until the pit is reached. Cut the avocado lengthwise. Separate the avocado halves. Store the rest of the avocado after using 25% for the smoothie.

If possible, store the remaining avocado in the skin with the pit. The skin and pit prevent oxygen from reaching the flesh, limiting exposure and burning.

Store the flesh in the fridge with plastic wrap directly on it to prevent air from reaching it to preserve it. It should be green for two days.
